About the project
Designed and developed the website for Kallaglassgård, one of Sweden’s most popular seasonal ice cream parlors, attracting more than 25,000 visitors in just over seven weeks each summer. The goal of the project was to create a visually engaging website that captures the fun, family-friendly atmosphere of the destination while highlighting its unique vintage environment.
The design concept focused on showcasing the parlor’s large and creative ice cream sundaes, historic setting with buildings dating back to the 1750s, and family-friendly attractions such as the children’s playground. The website structure was redesigned to emphasize imagery and storytelling, allowing visitors to quickly understand the experience and atmosphere before visiting.
Using existing photos and content provided by the client, the site was redesigned with a vintage-inspired aesthetic and cheerful visual style, reflecting the character of the location. The new design was then implemented and deployed on the client’s domain to replace the previous website.
Scope of work:
Website UI/UX redesign with a vintage-inspired theme
WordPress development and responsive layout implementation
Image-focused design to showcase ice cream creations and visitor experience
Content restructuring using existing site text and translated materials
Full deployment of the redesigned website to the client’s domain
The Progressive
It’s funny. I was having a conversation with one of my best friends not too long ago—a friend who was definitely around me all the time when I was launching this first product—and they had absolutely, 100%, no idea that my email list had only 71 people on it when I first released this course. And then, they told me it actually inspired them a ton.
That meant so much to me. And also made me realize that the few Periscope broadcasts I’ve shared this in before are not enough to really help and (hopefully) inspire others. I knew I had to make a case study out of it.
